Evergist for ChatGPT

Updated ยท Markdown

Evergist's ChatGPT plugin opens an editor inside your conversation. Paste an ordinary note or draft into the editor, choose an expiry and view limit, then create an encrypted link. The browser encrypts before upload. Evergist stores ciphertext and cannot decrypt it.

The plugin is being prepared for public directory review. There is no public installation listing yet.

Connect in developer mode

Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. Follow OpenAI's connection guide if the settings differ in your account.

  1. In ChatGPT settings, open Security and login and enable Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins, press the plus button, and name the connection Evergist.
  3. Use https://evergist.com/mcp as the server URL. Choose no authentication.
  4. Create the connection and review its two tools.
  5. Start a conversation with Evergist enabled and ask "Open an encrypted note editor with one view and a one-hour expiry."

Share a note

  1. Ask ChatGPT to open the Evergist editor.
  2. Paste your ordinary note directly into the widget. The tool does not accept note text.
  3. Confirm that it contains no restricted data, then click Create encrypted link.
  4. Copy the generated link and deliver it to your recipient. The plugin does not send messages for you.

Save the link before closing the widget. Evergist cannot recover it. Opening it yourself uses one of the allowed views.

Check, read, or delete

Ask "Open the Evergist note manager." Paste a complete Evergist link directly into the widget and confirm the content is within the plugin's scope.

  • Check status shows expiry and remaining views without using a view.
  • Open note requires confirmation and consumes one view. The last view deletes the stored note.
  • Delete note requires confirmation and permanently deletes it.

The chat model receives only an editor-open result. It does not receive note text, links, keys, or action results from the widget. It cannot summarize a note you opened in the widget. The editor also works in a browser when inline UI is unavailable.

Supported content

Use the plugin for ordinary notes and drafts. It does not support passwords, API keys, authentication secrets, payment card data, health records, or government identifiers. Password-protected notes cannot be opened or deleted through this plugin.

The local MCP server and CLI run on your own machine and have separate workflows. The public ChatGPT plugin has its own content restrictions under OpenAI's plugin guidelines.

Privacy and support

Encryption protects text uploaded to Evergist. It cannot remove text already shared in your ChatGPT conversation. OpenAI hosts the conversation and widget. Read the privacy policy and terms, or contact support.
